Asked About Interview Questions

My friend was asking me for some tips on job interviews that she can use so she could perform on her job well. She is just a newly hired human resources personnel and she said she got assigned to the interview team and she was wondering if I know some uncommon stuff in the questions that human resource people ask during interviews. I asked her what was the industry that she is currently working in and she said it is a customer service call center industry and she would actually be assigned to a different country somewhere in Asia and will be leaving in a couple of weeks.

I told her that in such industry, all she needs to ask are a couple of personal questions and then give something hypothetical since what she needs to know is her interviewees’ capabilities to speak. Just make sure that the people that she would be hiring can speak well and spontaneous enough to handle any questions that could be given. Hypothetical questions like “How can you describe a certain color to a blind person since birth” or “How do you handle stress” can easily work. It’s just a matter of knowing how to handle a lot of interviews in a day.

I can’t think of a place where competition doesn’t exist. Given the economic condition, downsizing and lay offs; one should really stand out to be seen among those many people looking for job. No need to feel hopeless or pressured, don’t think of job hunting as tough and laborious instead think of it as a big challenge and a journey to learning as you go along. I never experienced being between jobs for a month, the last longest is just one week; secret? Keep on looking and stay positive.

Check for online job postings regularly and buying Sunday newspaper can also of big help. Go for the classified add section and make a thorough search. Don’t just go for the big companies or those who occupy bigger space in the newspaper. Do follow ups with your applications and stay positive. Your social contacts can help you but don’t forget that drive should come from you alone.
